  110. 1.5 QUALITY ASSURANCE

  284.             joints.
  285.         3.  Permanently laminate cladding materials to aluminum
  286.             surfaces; visible fastening devices not permitted.
  287.         4.  Prepare clad components for specified hardware.
  288.         5.  Finish surfaces of cladding materials to specified
  289.             finish; apply strippable protective materials to
  290.             finished surfaces.
  291.         6.  Assemble components to extent practical, considering
  292.             shipping limitations.

  295. PART 3  EXECUTION
  296.  
  297. 3.1 EXAMINATION
  298.  
  299.     A.  Verify that openings to receive entrance assemblies are
  300.         of correct size and are prepared correctly, in accordance
  301.         with shop drawings.
  302.  
  303.     B.  Installer's Examination:
  304.         1.  Have installer of this section examine conditions
  305.             under which construction activities of this section
  306.             are to be performed, then submit written notification
  307.             if such conditions are unacceptable.
  308.         2.  Transmit two copies of installer's report to
  309.             Architect within 24 hours of receipt.
  310.         3.  Beginning construction activities of this section
  311.             before unacceptable conditions have been corrected is
  312.             prohibited.
  313.         4.  Beginning construction activities of this section
  314.             indicates installer's acceptance of conditions.
  315.  
  316. 3.2 INSTALLATION
  317. NOTE ** Delete references to related construction
  318.         activities of other sections that do not apply to

  323.     A.  Install entrance assembly components in accordance with
  324.         shop drawings.

  326.     B.  Remove strippable protective materials from metal
  327.         surfaces only to extent required for installation of
  328.         assembly, and to receive glazing and door hardware.
  329. NOTE ** Retain one of the following two sub-paragraphs;
  330.         retain first if requiring installer of this section
  331.         to install glazing, retain second if all glazing is
  332.         installed under Section 08800.

  334.     C.  Install glazing in accordance with installation
  335.         requirements of Section 08800, and shop drawings.

  337.     D.  Installation of glazing is specified in Section 08800.

  362.             lines:  1/8 inch in 10 feet (3 mm in 3 m), non-
  363.             cumulative.
  364.         3.  Variation from plane, installed assembly:  Maximum

  367. 3.3 ADJUSTING
  368.  
  369.     A.  Adjust entrance doors to swing correctly, without binding
  370.         to frame, sill, or adjacent doors.
  371. NOTE ** Retain the following sub-paragraph if installation
  372.         of door hardware is specified in this section.

  374.     B.  Adjust door hardware to operate correctly.
  375.  
  376. 3.4 CLEANING
  377.  
  378.     A.  Immediately prior to Substantial Completion, remove
  379.         strippable protective materials from metal surfaces;
  380.         clean metal surfaces free of adhesive residue and other
  381.         foreign substances, using cleaning materials and methods
  382.         recommended by fabricator of this section.
  383.  
  384. 3.5 PROTECTION
  385.  
  386.     A.  Protect finished installation from damage by subsequent
  387.         construction activities until Substantial Completion.
  388.  
  389.     B.  Repair components damaged by subsequent construction
  390.         activities in accordance with fabricator's
  391.         recommendations; replace damaged components that cannot
  392.         be repaired to Architect's acceptance.
